Dear Universal Pictures,

I find the references to the slur words ‘retard’ and ‘downy’ in your movie ‘The Change-Up’ to be perpetuation of hate speech towards individuals and families with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

By using these types of words in comedies such as ‘The Change-Up you are contributing to a progression of prejudice against people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

I ask that you screen these hateful words from scripts in future movies and I demand a public apology for the use of these derogatory words in this movie.
