Action Pledge

Take the original R-Word “My Words Matter” Pledge by Jenna Glatzer:

“I pledge that I will not use the words “retard” or “retarded” to mean “stupid.” I understand that this is hurtful to people who have disabilities and people who love them, so I will be careful with my words. I will also try to remember to pay attention when other people use these words, and I’ll ask them to stop. “

  1. i never say that word at all. It’s my number one rule not to say it. I’ve been called that myself and i hate it. i stand up for people who have been called that. I believe until a bully is called that name or picked on themsleves the stupidty will never stop. So I will do whatever it takes to stop it before it really does anyone else harm.
That is my word of honor.

  3. We really never know that pain one word can cause. We say that word when we describe someone who is silly or does something odd. But in reality when you think about it, It’s an aweful word to say! I take the oath of not saying it agin!!
