My five-year-old brother has downs, and when I tell people they actaully feel bad for me, my family and him. These people don’t know just how wonderful and talented he is. They don’t know he is capable of doing everything others can, but at a slower pace. He is the best person I know. I love him, this site and the pledge. I will never use the ‘r’ word, and I will not stand idle when others around me use it.
I feel this is an issue that needs to be spoken about!This was my college speech topic…and I directed my fellow classmates to take the pleadge today…I am proud to speak out, I am proud to take the pledge!!
i pledge to try not to say the “r” word.
I chate the r-word and i will never say it again people who say tht word hurts lots of people and its messed up there people to so treat them like there just like everyone else
In my house we have never said the r word. My mom hates it and infacted she is a EC teacher. So I pledge here and now (4.15.2011) to countiue to never say it again
