Take the original R-Word “My Words Matter” Pledge by Jenna Glatzer:
“I pledge that I will not use the words “retard” or “retarded” to mean “stupid.” I understand that this is hurtful to people who have disabilities and people who love them, so I will be careful with my words. I will also try to remember to pay attention when other people use these words, and I’ll ask them to stop. “

I’ve been fighting this battle, seemingly, single handed for years! This campaign has made my heart smile.
I pledge to never say this word again as an insult or a replacement for “stupid” or “silly” Every human being is special in their own way, a masterpiece of God’s creation. It saddens me that my Middle school teachers apparently don’t care and use it every other week.
I pledge to act like a respectful person and not some fool or give in based on my surroundings.
I will never use the word ‘R”. I will use the word R only it is means respect .
