I am a mom of a beautiful teenage son and do not want the R word used to describe my son. It is very offensive to me. I worked as a case manager and was asked by one of my teenage individuals why people keep insisting that he was the r word .It broke my heart as it made him sad.I said that they did not understand that it was offensive. People are very cruel by nature and calling people names makes them feel better somehow or it hides their insecurities!
